Hello and thanks for stopping by – my name is Martin and I am "the man behind the camera" here at Photochromatics!

 

Having been formally trained in photography at the then Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design, graduating at the age of 20, it took some 25 years for me to get fully comfortable with the idea of making a career out of photography. I was trained in the use of traditional film cameras, and only obtained my first digital SLR in 2012 but since then have never looked back!

My mission is to make great portrait photography more affordable and accessible to all, without compromising either quality or service. My pricing and packages are transparent and uncomplicated; there are no hidden extras and no expensive print packages. Consequently, I provide digital images only - putting YOU firmly in control of what you get printed, where and at what cost.

I have a great many satisfied and returning customers, who are extremely loyal and only too happy to recommend me repeatedly to friends, family and even complete strangers on social media platforms such as Facebook. Why? Because I am personable, great with children (I have two young daughters of my own), and am committed to working WITH each and every client to achieve wonderful images that they will cherish forever. Photography is my passion and I value every booking and order, no matter how small, knowing that customers choose me because they appreciate the art form and the care that I put into everything.
 

Newborn package (recommended within 10 days of birth but any time up to 3 weeks from birth): £85 for approx 3 hours photo shoot (includes time for feeds, changes and settling as necessary); private online gallery from which you choose 8 images – these will then be professionally edited / retouched by me and hi-res digital copies provided for you to then do with as you please.

 

Cake Smash (or ‘Smash & Splash’): Pricing starting at £70 plus an optional £30 or £35 for a professionally-made cake (giant cupcake or ombre cake respectively) and £15 for 6 helium balloons, and which includes bunting, use of my extensive collection of outfits and props and an approximate 1-1.5 hour, 4-stage shoot (ending in bath tub clean-up fun and robe shots!); private online gallery from which you choose 10 images – these will then be professionally edited / retouched by me and hi-res digital copies provided for you to then do with as you please.

 

All other portraiture (including Maternity, recommended at 32 weeks+): £35 for 1/2 hr and £55 for 1 hour photo shoot; private online gallery from which you choose either 3 or 6 images – these will then be professionally edited / retouched by me and hi-res digital copies provided for you to then do with as you please.

For all packages, any additional images desired are charged at just £5 per edited image. I do not provide unedited images.

Turnaround times: I aim to provide online galleries within 1 week of the shoot and fully edited final images within 2 weeks following selection – if I can manage to get images to you sooner then I will, and conversely if I’m falling behind then I’ll keep you informed!
